Journey (sleeper car series)

PROJECTS CONSTRUCTED ABSTRACT BLACK & WHITE COLOUR STATEMENT

A journey usually involves travelling from one place to another, either physically or metaphorically.  It incorporates both time and

distance.

This particular journey was from Toronto to Vancouver on the "Canadian".  The train consists of the original 1955-built stainless-steel

coaches.

The images are an attempt to evoke the private world that one finds oneself in when travelling in a sleeper car over many days.  The

original stainless-steel cars evoke a bygone era of a more leisurely pace to life. They also show a commitment to detail and beauty of

form that is hard to find today.
