Still Life

PROJECTS CONSTRUCTED ABSTRACT BLACK & WHITE COLOUR STATEMENT

Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the picturesque.

In these works horrific images are being covered over by what seems to be an abstract pattern of colours.

These works comment on a culture preoccupied with the visually appealing.  Magazines and Art galleries are full of picturesque

imagery.  We censure real images of war and death yet we eagerly consume those same images when they are part of film

entertainment.

The stained glass motif, used to obscure parts of the original image, makes reference to religion in general and its culpability in what

lies beneath.
